2. What Data We Collect
Collected automatically
- Analytics and usage data through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: visitor numbers, traffic sources, page usage, navigation behavior, conversion funnels, and website and application performance.
- Security and technical logs. IP address, browser type, device information and the pages requested, kept to secure the website and prevent abuse.
- Cookie and consent preferences.
- Campaign parameters, such as UTM parameters, that show how you reached our website.
Provided by you
- Inquiries: what you send through our contact forms or by email.
- Prospective customer and demo information.
- Support communications.
- Marketing information, where you've given consent.
Our contact form and our vendor request form collect your name, business name, email address and phone number. They also ask about your industry, number of locations and current POS, the vendor you're interested in and your message, and whether you want marketing emails. We also record which page you sent a form from.
3. Why We Collect It

- Remember your cookie choices
- Meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
4. Legal Basis for Processing
In Canada, we collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, express or implied, or as the law otherwise permits.
In the EEA and UK, where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: steps you ask us to take, such as comparing POS options and connecting you with a vendor
- Legitimate interests: responding to inquiries, keeping our systems secure, preventing fraud and resolving disputes
- Consent: analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity, marketing messages, and sharing your details with a vendor you choose. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: keeping records for tax, accounting and regulatory purposes

Affiliate links. CloudBasedPOSSystem.com doesn't currently use affiliate referral links that generate commissions from POS vendors. If we add them, they may contain unique tracking identifiers that let a vendor see we referred you. Any page with commission-generating affiliate links will say so, and a referral ID or affiliate relationship won't influence our scores or recommendations.
We share your details with a vendor only when you give us permission.
We don't currently sell personal information for money. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
