Epos Now POS System Review 2027: Pricing, Contracts and Verdict
How we make money: CanComCo earns a commission from some POS and payments vendors when a business we refer signs up. Commission never changes a rating or a price we publish.
Epos Now at a Glance
| $599 for the Countertop bundle, which the page itemizes as the Countertop, the Epos Now Payments card machine and a cash drawer, down from a listed $1,099. | |
| None published. No recurring monthly amount appears anywhere on the US pricing page. | |
| None published. No in-person, online or keyed rate appears on the pricing page. | |
| None published. No term, notice period, auto-renewal clause or cancellation policy appears anywhere we read. | |
| Capterra records no free trial and no free version. The pricing page shows a "Free Trial signup" heading with no duration attached. | |
| Six at once: $599, $399, $299 (headlined as GBP 299), $249 twice and $199. Only the $599 bundle is itemized. | |
| US pricing page in USD, but it shows a GBP offer and asks for card volume in GBP, so confirm which offers apply to a US buyer. | |
| The cheapest bundled hardware we've reviewed. $599 buys a terminal, a card machine and a cash drawer. | |
| Capterra's three published cons are about cancellation, business integrity and refunds, against 730 reviews and 27% negative sentiment. | |
| G2 4.6 from 29 reviews against Capterra 3.8 from 730, and Trustpilot 4.3 from 26,729. See Section 8. |

Epos Now Pricing: What You'll Actually Pay
Epos Now prices hardware and almost nothing else. What follows is everything the page actually publishes, which is less than a buyer needs.
The one itemized offer
| Item | Price | What the page says it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Countertop bundle | $599, listed as down from $1,099 | The Countertop, the Epos Now Payments card machine, and a cash drawer. This is the only bundle on the page with its contents listed. |
The other five prices on the same page
| Offer as worded | Price |
|---|---|
| "Complete POS System", save up to 77% | From $399, from a listed $1,099 |
| Winter Sale | Headline reads GBP 299, body reads $299, from a listed $1,099 |
| "The Complete Solution", save up to 45% | From $249, from a listed $449 |
| World Cup offer | $249, stated as running "until the final on 19 July" |
| Cyber Monday hospitality deal | From $199, from a listed $1,099 |
None of those five lists what it includes. The page also carries a countdown reading "Offer ends in 28 days 18 hours 51 minutes 38 seconds", repeated across the page with no end date stated, alongside "Our Lowest Price Ever" with no amount attached. A World Cup offer referencing a July final was still live when we checked in November.
What Epos Now does not publish
| Cost | Status |
|---|---|
| Monthly software fee | None published. We searched the page specifically for a recurring monthly amount and found none. |
| In-person card rate | None published. |
| Online and keyed rates | None published. |
| Contract term and notice period | None published. |
| Cancellation policy and early termination fee | None published. |
| Free trial length | None published. A "Free Trial signup" heading appears with no duration. |
Capterra lists Epos Now's starting price as $349 as a flat rate, one-time, which matches none of the six figures above. Use the vendor's page and treat Capterra's number as a third data point rather than a plan price.
Real monthly cost
REAL MONTHLY COST
The honest version: two of the three cost lines are blank.
Hardware, spread over three years: $599 divided by 36 = $16.64 a month
Software subscription: not published
Card processing: not published
Compare Square, where all three lines exist. Square Register is $799, so $799 divided by 36 = $22.19 a month, on a free software plan at $0, with processing at 2.6% + 15 cents. A shop doing $20,000 a month across 1,000 transactions pays $520.00 + $150.00 = $670.00 in processing, so $692.19 a month all in.
Epos Now's hardware is $5.55 a month cheaper over three years, and the $599 bundle includes a card machine and a cash drawer that Square's $799 Register does not. That is a real advantage. It is also the only part of the Epos Now bill you can calculate.

Epos Now Features: What Works and What Doesn't
Written from Epos Now's published pages and from aggregate review data on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot. No one at CanComCo has operated this product.
Point of sale and checkout
The Countertop is a full till with a card machine and cash drawer in the box at $599, which is the product's clearest argument. Epos Now Payments is the vendor's own card machine, included in that bundle. What processing it costs you is not published, so the hardware saving and the processing cost cannot be weighed against each other from public information.
Inventory
Product catalog management and inventory tracking with low-stock alerts are confirmed. Epos Now's Capterra listing describes "complex inventory management down to ingredient level alongside detailed reporting". Ingredient-level stock is a genuine differentiator for a kitchen if it holds up, and that phrase is vendor copy rather than a verified capability. Multi-location inventory sync, product variants and barcode scanning are not confirmed in the material we read.
Reporting
A real-time reporting dashboard is confirmed, and Capterra lists "Comprehensive business reporting tools" among its published pros, which is the one feature-level positive drawn from 730 reviews rather than from marketing copy.
Online ordering and kitchen display
Built-in online ordering and kitchen display integration are both confirmed. Epos Now's listing says it connects to "major online ordering and delivery apps" without naming any. We verified no named third-party integration in this pass, so this review names none. If a specific delivery marketplace matters to you, get it confirmed before signing.
What is not confirmed
Table management and floor plans, split checks, tip management, appointment booking, customer profiles and CRM, loyalty, gift cards, employee time tracking and payroll, multi-user permissions, offline mode, multi-currency and public API access are all absent from the material we read. For a full-service restaurant the missing table management and split checks matter.
Feature list verified against eposnow.com and Capterra in November 2026.
Hardware Options and Setup Experience
Hardware is where Epos Now competes, and the comparison is favorable. The Countertop bundle at $599 includes the terminal, the Epos Now Payments card machine and a cash drawer. Square's Register is $799 for the terminal alone, with its Terminal at $299, Kiosk at $149 and Stand at $149 sold separately. Clover's Compact is $349 for a device with no card machine or drawer included. On upfront capital, Epos Now wins this batch.
The rest of the range is unpriced. The page names Pro+ at "was $1,099, now from $399" without itemizing what arrives in the box, and names the Air, the Link Card Reader, a Pro+ card machine, a kitchen display and accessories with no prices at all. No receipt printer or barcode scanner appears in any bundle description, so budget for those separately.
Epos Now publishes no setup timeline, so we give none. Capterra does list "Accessible training and onboarding" among its published pros, which is the clearest signal available that implementation goes reasonably. Whether a third-party tablet can run Epos Now was not established on the pages we read.

Customer Support: What to Expect When Things Break
The published evidence here points in two directions and we are going to show you both.
Capterra scores Customer Service 3.6 out of 5 from 705 reviews, and lists "Accessible training and onboarding" among its pros while listing "Difficult cancellation process", "Concerns about business integrity" and "Problems obtaining refunds" among its cons.
Trustpilot scores the company 4.3 from 26,729 reviews and reports that Epos Now replies to 99% of negative reviews, typically within 24 hours. That is the highest reply rate of any vendor we have reviewed. For scale, Clover replies to 3% of its negative Trustpilot reviews and Deliverect to about 90%. Note also that Epos Now's Trustpilot profile has been claimed since May 2014 and carries a paid Trustpilot subscription.
Both platforms' own aggregate summaries agree on what the complaints are about, even while their scores differ. Trustpilot's summary, drawn from 3,696 reviews, cites billing problems, unexpected charges, difficult contract terms, and delays resolving payment disputes. Capterra's cons name cancellation and refunds. The two sources disagree on the score, not on the subject.
Epos Now publishes no support channel list, hours, languages, escalation path or status page on the pages we read.

Epos Now Pros and Cons
Pros
- The cheapest bundled hardware we've reviewed. $599 for a Countertop, a card machine and a cash drawer, against Square's $799 Register alone and Clover's $349 device without either.
- Frequent, deep discounts. Six concurrent offers off a listed $1,099, so a buyer who can time a purchase has room to move.
- Ingredient-level inventory, per the vendor. Epos Now's listing describes stock tracking down to ingredient level with detailed reporting. Vendor copy, but a real differentiator for a kitchen if it holds.
- Reporting is a published strength. "Comprehensive business reporting tools" is one of Capterra's pros, drawn from 730 reviews rather than marketing.
- Onboarding is a published strength too. "Accessible training and onboarding" is Capterra's other pro.
- It answers its critics. 99% of negative Trustpilot reviews get a reply, usually within 24 hours. No other vendor we've reviewed comes close.
Cons
- Capterra's three published cons are about conduct, not features. "Difficult cancellation process", "Concerns about business integrity" and "Problems obtaining refunds", recorded against 730 reviews with 27% negative sentiment. No other vendor on this site carries published cons of that kind.
- No monthly software fee is published anywhere. We searched the pricing page specifically for a recurring amount and found none. You cannot build a total cost of ownership.
- No card rate, no contract term, no cancellation policy, no trial length. Four more things a buyer needs, none of them published, against a published con about cancellation.
- The pricing page cannot be read as a price list. Six prices at once, only one itemized, a countdown with no end date, a World Cup offer referencing a July final still live in November, and a Winter Sale headlined in pounds whose body says dollars.
- The two review sources disagree by 0.8. G2 4.6 from 29 reviews against Capterra 3.8 from 730. Our unweighted method means the smaller sample lifts the overall by 0.4.
- Currency mixing on the US page. A GBP sale price in the headline and a GBP card-volume field on the enterprise form, on a page served under /us/ in dollars.
This profile suits a business short on capital that will read the contract line by line before signing. It frustrates anyone who needs to model total cost, and the published cons mean the exit terms matter more here than on any other page of this site.
What Real Users Say About Epos Now
Three platforms, three very different samples, and a 0.8 spread between the two that count toward our rating.
| Source | Score | Reviews | Scope | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| G2 | 4.6 / 5 | 29 | Seller listed as EposNow.com. Small sample. Counts toward our rating. | Nov 4, 2027 |
| Capterra | 3.8 / 5 | 730 | Value for Money 3.6 (683), Customer Service 3.6 (705), Features 3.8 (730). Sentiment 68% positive, 5% neutral, 27% negative. Pros: "Intuitive and simple operation", "Accessible training and onboarding", "Comprehensive business reporting tools". Cons: "Difficult cancellation process", "Concerns about business integrity", "Problems obtaining refunds". Starting price listed as $349 flat rate one-time. Last updated October 19, 2027. | Nov 4, 2027 |
| Trustpilot | 4.3 / 5, labeled Excellent | 26,729 | 5 star 83%, 4 star 4%, 3 star under 1%, 2 star under 1%, 1 star 11%. Claimed since May 2014 with a paid Trustpilot subscription. Replies to 99% of negative reviews, usually within 24 hours. Most recent review October 12, 2027. EXCLUDED from our rating per our method. | Nov 4, 2027 |
| Apple App Store and Google Play | Not researched | Not researched | Not covered in this research pass. | Not researched |
How the 4.2 was calculated, and why it needs a caveat. The unweighted mean of the product-specific published scores: G2 4.6 + Capterra 3.8 = 8.4, divided by 2 = 4.2. The samples are 29 and 730. Weighting by review count would give 3.83, so the method as stated lifts the result by about 0.4 on the strength of 29 reviews. We publish 4.2 because that is our stated method, and we are telling you exactly what it does. If you see Epos Now level with another vendor at 4.2 in a comparison table, this is the asterisk.
The 4.3 and the 3.8 are not as contradictory as they look. Trustpilot's score rests on 26,729 reviews, 83% of them five-star, and Trustpilot's own summary of 3,696 of those reviews names billing problems, unexpected charges, difficult contract terms and delays resolving payment disputes. Capterra's cons name cancellation, integrity and refunds. The two platforms disagree about the headline number. They agree about what the complaints concern. A reader should weigh the volume of satisfied Trustpilot reviewers against the fact that both platforms' critical mass points at the same part of the business, and that part is the contract rather than the software.

Square POS
Consider this if you want no contract and every rate published.
Plans at $0, $49 and $149, in-person processing at 2.6% + 15 cents printed against each tier, a 30-day trial on the paid plans, and cancellation terms stated. Capterra scores Square 4.6 from 3,036 reviews against Epos Now's 3.8 from 730. You give up: cheap bundled hardware. Square Register is $799 for the terminal alone, against Epos Now's $599 for a terminal, card machine and cash drawer. Square's first Reader is free, though.
from $0 a month
-
Clover
Consider this for a purpose-built terminal with published card rates.
Publishes 2.6% + 10 cents tapped and 3.5% + 10 cents keyed, with 24/7 support on every plan. You give up: less than you might hope. Clover's own Trustpilot score is 1.9 from 2,213 reviews, so this is a swap of one reputational problem for another, and Clover's hardware financing runs 36 months. Read both pages before choosing between them.

Lightspeed Retail
Consider this for inventory-led retail that wants published plan pricing.

Epos Now FAQ
How much does Epos Now cost?
The only itemized offer is a Countertop bundle at $599, including the card machine and a cash drawer, down from a listed $1,099. The same page shows five other prices, $399, $299, $249 twice and $199, none of which lists what it includes. No monthly software fee appears anywhere on the page.
Does Epos Now charge a monthly subscription?
Almost certainly, but it does not publish the amount. We searched the US pricing page specifically for a recurring monthly figure and found none. A testimonial on the page refers to a monthly subscription without naming a price. Ask for the figure in writing before you sign.
What are Epos Now's card processing fees?
None are published. No in-person, online or keyed rate appears on the pricing page, even though Epos Now Payments is its own card machine and is included in the $599 bundle.
What contract does Epos Now require, and how do I cancel?
Neither is published. No term, notice period, auto-renewal clause or cancellation policy appears anywhere we read. Capterra lists "Difficult cancellation process" and "Problems obtaining refunds" among its three published cons, so get the term length, the notice period and the exit conditions in writing before signing.
Is there an Epos Now free trial?
Capterra records no free trial and no free version. The pricing page shows a "Free Trial signup" heading with no duration attached. Do not plan around a trial length until Epos Now states one.
Why do Epos Now's ratings differ so much between sites?
G2 scores 4.6 from 29 reviews, Capterra 3.8 from 730, and Trustpilot 4.3 from 26,729. Our 4.2 is the unweighted mean of the first two, so the small G2 sample lifts it by about 0.4. The platforms agree more than the numbers suggest: both Capterra's cons and Trustpilot's own review summary point at billing, contract terms and cancellation rather than at the software.
Which of the prices on the pricing page applies to me?
We cannot tell you, and the page does not say. It shows six prices at once, headlines one Winter Sale offer in pounds while its body quotes dollars, carries a countdown with no end date, and had a World Cup offer referencing a July final still running in November. Ask a salesperson to confirm in writing which offer you are buying and what it contains.
What hardware comes in the $599 bundle?
The Countertop, the Epos Now Payments card machine and a cash drawer. That is the only bundle on the page whose contents are listed. No receipt printer or barcode scanner is mentioned.
Is Epos Now Right for Your Business?
If your obstacle is upfront capital, Epos Now has the strongest answer in this batch. $599 buys a terminal, a card machine and a cash drawer, where Square charges $799 for the terminal alone and Clover $349 for a device with neither. Reporting and onboarding both appear as published strengths drawn from 730 Capterra reviews rather than from marketing, 83% of 26,729 Trustpilot reviewers give it five stars, and the company replies to 99% of its negative reviews within a day, which is the highest engagement rate we have recorded.
The problem is everything the pricing page leaves out, and what the review record says about that gap. No monthly fee, no card rate, no contract term and no cancellation policy are published, while Capterra's three published cons are "Difficult cancellation process", "Concerns about business integrity" and "Problems obtaining refunds", and Trustpilot's own summary of 3,696 reviews names billing problems, unexpected charges and difficult contract terms. Those two platforms disagree about the score and agree about the subject. Our advice is specific: treat the $599 as the only number you can trust, and do not sign until the monthly fee, the processing rate, the term length, the notice period and the cancellation process are all in writing. If a salesperson will not put those five things in an email, that is your answer.
Commission disclosure applies. Rating is 4.2 / 5 as of November 2026, derived from published third-party scores by the method in How we review.
